BLACKSMITHS IN RIVERSIDE

This display features blacksmith tools from the Riverside museum's archives.  There were two blacksmith shops in Riverside.  The older one was at 181 Barrypoint Road and still exists as a single family home.  The other shop c. 1909 was the Falconer Blacksmith and Service Shop at 34-39 Quincy (where Metal Mites is today).  Falconer was able to adapt to the horseless carriage and repaired automobiles once the horse trade disappeared.
